Teen Patti and Three Card Poker are frequently described as the same game. They share a deck size, a hand size and most of a ranking order. Almost nothing else is the same.
Who you are playing against
This is the whole difference and everything else follows from it.
Teen Patti is played between players. The pot is contributed by the people at the table and won by one of them. There is no house position in the social game.
Three Card Poker is a casino table game. You play against a dealer hand, the house banks every wager, and the other players at the table are irrelevant to your result.

The only difference is at the top: Teen Patti ranks a trail above a pure sequence, Three Card Poker ranks the straight flush highest. Both are defensible — there are 52 trails and 48 straight flushes, so they are nearly equally rare and the ordering is close to arbitrary.
The betting structure
Teen Patti: ante, then multiple betting rounds with the blind-and-seen distinction, raises, side shows and a final show. The betting is the game.
Three Card Poker: place an ante, look at your cards, then make a single decision — fold, or place a play wager equal to the ante. That is it. One decision per hand.
Strategy
Three Card Poker has a solved strategy. Play any hand of Queen-Six-Four or better; fold everything below. That single rule is optimal. There is nothing else to learn, and no opponent to read.
Teen Patti has no solved strategy, because it is a multiplayer betting game with hidden information and bluffing. Opponent behaviour matters more than cards.
The dealer qualification
A Three Card Poker rule with no Teen Patti equivalent. The dealer must hold Queen-high or better to qualify. If they do not, your ante pays and your play wager pushes — returned without winning.
Which is the better game
Different purposes entirely.
Three Card Poker is fast, requires one memorised rule, and offers no depth whatever. It is a casino game, with a house edge of roughly 3.4% on optimal play.
Teen Patti is a social game with real strategic depth in the betting, played among people who know each other. Between friends with no house taking a cut, it is simply a game — which is how it is best played.
